At the range!!!
I have been downloading my Hotmail msgs to outlook express for years now without any problems. I recently got an email from Microsoft saying that I will be able to continue doing this but any future accounts I start will not be able too.

For the last couple of weeks I can receive my msgs but I can't reply to them. I get this msg when I try...

The server does not support the required HTTP methods. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Method Not Allowed', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC35

Does anyone have any advise?

Thanks Baci

Hotmail has disabled the option of using Outlook for mail, unless you subscribe to the upgraded version of Hotmail., but for now existing accounts can still use OE.
Not sure why you cant reply,I have no problems (yet)

GB answered your question.

I am still able to access my hotmail and msn via Outlook & Outlook Express... new susbcribers cannot.

Here is a copy of an email sent to me by Microsoft

Dear MSN Member,

Recently, Hotmail® announced that in order to improve customer experience and reduce spam and junk e-mail abuse on MSN® services, Hotmail will no longer allow new e-mail accounts to be accessed via Microsoft® Office Outlook® and Outlook Express.

We are pleased to inform you that because you are an existing and valued customer, at this time your current Hotmail and MSN account(s) are exempt from this restriction and you will be able to continue enjoying access to those accounts from Outlook or Outlook Express. However, any new Hotmail or MSN accounts you create will not be accessible via Outlook or Outlook Express.

I have heard that a "secuity setting" in XP...the new security feature of SP2 if set too high will prevent outgoing mail. This may or may not be correct..

Do an advanced google....or check out MS's own FAQ's..most likely it's an easy fix.
