Mostly about how the internet makes it easier for us ...... there's a 3rd article in the print version, can't find it online .... spend the quarter if you really need to see *lol*

Doesn't mention Terb, CL gets a lot of ink and some anon escorts and johns .......... biggest thing I got out of it was that some police detective says the online ads are NOT illegal, that there's nothing they can do about em. And that they usually only act if there's a complaint

no JP, no mention of Toshi :p

FTA:
"It's very hard to infiltrate. A lot of undercover work has to be done," he said, which is weighed against the amount of manpower needed to arrest one girl."

Your hard earned tax money at work. A lot of Police work needs to be done to "arrest" a girl or a guy who want to have fun together.

/Ask your city counsellors to cut Police budget if they don't have better things to do.

I wondered about that myself. Kind of odd.

my understanding is;

exchanging sex for money in Canada is totally legal.

Public communication for the purposes of prostitution is illegal (i.e. blatant advertising, explicit emails, street walking...etc)

living on the avails of prostitution is illegal ( being a pimp )

and there are a few around the "common bawdy house" definition that make it illegal to work in, own, or be a patron of. (in call locations)

The really trickey part concerns the definition of "Common bawdy house." It has been held that if a girl habitually uses an outdoor park area, that is a bawdy house!!! Online ads and those in the paper are legal as they are not solicitations, merely advertisements.

I can understand that. Not from a logical point of view but from because the laws seem to be designed to keep this kind of activity out of the public eye. So the laws seem to be crafted fairly well to achieve that goal.

In essence they have recourse if someone complains about it but other than that, no problem.

Obviously an in call location that doesn't change (an apartment, or house) would be riskier than a hotel room.

I still think we'd be better off with the whole business being decriminalized or even legalized.

People who read about it and are "not in the hobby" might have thought about the whole thing while reading it. IF they didnt flip the page.
Once they put the paper in the recycling blue box they completely forgot about it I guarantee you.
They showed the same type of report on CJOH last year and nothing happend.
So enjoy yourselves as usual and eat and be marry!!!
The city/cops only care about one thing......getting a raise and raising our taxes!!

It's because of people putting papers in the blue box instead of the black one that they raise taxes.
