While requiring a key card for the elevator is not a deal breaker it can make for an uncomfortable situation for the service provider. I would like to avoid booking a downtown hotel that does not require a key card.
Which hotels should I avoid?

There was once a very useful spreadsheet with details of the different hotels in town. Anyone remember who used to maintain it?

For downtown, avoid all Marriotts except for the one on Kent, Alt Hotel, Andaz, Hilton Garden Inn for sure, those are all key carded.
The Holiday Inn on Queen is keycarded at the entrance but not elevators.
The Westin you need to put specific numbers in to use the elevators.
Arc Hotel is not keycard, same with the Sheraton and Delta last I checked.

I'll update more when I remember more!

Homewood Suites by Hilton has key-carded elevators

The Business Inn has a key-carded door between the lobby and the elevators

Les Suites and the Carleton Suite Hotel both require a key-card (or using an intercom to the front desk) to get let into the lobby

What do ladies do when a hotel requires a keycard for elevator?
We usually try and avoid those hotels whenever possible, otherwise we need to go down to collect the clients.

Alternatively, I sometimes hide a keycard somewhere for a client to collect or bring a lockbox with me they can use to get one to get in easier.
