Hey everyone, I could really use some advice.

I'm currently going through a divorce and was looking for some companionship, so I booked someone through ladys.one (the listing was "Escort model ASIAN CLEAN GIRL" in Ottawa, +1540 xxxx). To keep things simple and minimize my risk, I chose a 30-minute booking for CAD $75. I sent the payment by Interac e-Transfer, but shortly afterward they told me I needed to pay an additional CAD $100 "safety and security" deposit, which they claimed would be fully refunded after the appointment. Then I had to contac someone claiming to be the manager/pimp, who demanded yet another CAD $75 as a refundable "caution" deposit to guarantee that I wouldn't harm or mistreat the escort. At that point, I politely refused to send any more money and asked for a refund of my original payment. They refused.

I have no experience with this industry, so I'd really appreciate some advice. Is ladys.one considered a legitimate site? Has anyone here had any experience with this particular escort? Does this sound like a typical advance-fee scam, or are these kinds of "refundable deposits" actually common?

It's not really about the money I lost. If this is a scam, I'd like to know if there's anything I can do to help prevent others from getting caught. I realize recovering the money is probably unlikely. Thanks in advance for any insights.

I’ve found the profile for the lady you chose. Supposedly does basically everything for practically no $$ - red flag #1 and full face pics from Asian providers typically means the pics aren’t real….

lots of other red flags as well but it’s all new to you I understand.

my recommendation - you’ve joined terb. Do some research by scrolling around the site and as most will tell you - no deposits to providers who are not VERY REPUTABLE. Most who ask for deposits are just scams to get your $&

If your thing is asians - there are a few good threads dedicated to Asian ladys - so read a bit, make a choice, then ask terb for advice on your choice…. Then if all still feels good, have some fun

I really don't mean to be insulting, but this is clearly one of the most obvious scams ever. There is no escort involved, they just try to sucker as many people as possible into paying the first fee, and then continue trying to milk as much as possible from those gullible enough to fall for it. There is a 0% chance of getting any money back.

You say you have no experience in this industry, so here's my advice to you since you have already proven yourself to be susceptible to being scammed. Do not pay anything in advance for any escort. While some reputable escorts do require a deposit up front, you won't be able to tell the legitimate ones from the grand majority of ads posted by scammers. Do not go to any other site to choose an escort to see. There are some real escorts listed on other sites, but you somehow managed to find and engage a scammer on one of those other sites. Read some reviews here to find an escort who has already been positively reviewed and who doesn't require a deposit, and book them instead. Follow these directions and good luck!

For what it’s worth, I saw Maria at #34 a few months back and it would be a hard “No repeat” with her…. Looked nothing like pictures and services were not offered as advertised (I am clean, polite, and don’t try to bargain prices down). I would try location again as the price is right and the room had a nice shower…

So I wasn't quite expecting this but seems I found a new asian place? I saw an add I didn't recognize and texted. Reasonably quick response, decent price and I happened to be driving through the area later in the day, so perfect! I'll toftt and see what it is.
