I just finished reading a thread where multiple posters were musing about women making millions of dollars on only fans as if it was the norm

I’m surprised to still hear people talking like this, I think I thought these myths had already been dispelled

I want to clear this up

97% of onlyfans accounts make less than $3000 a month

97% of accounts make less than $3000 a month, and spend hours upon hours creating content and marketing.

The majority of accounts make very little despite spending hours hustling.

It is NOT a get rich scheme. It’s a TON of work for most people

There are a small percentage of accounts that do VERY WELL. 1% of accounts.

Those are usually accounts that belong to famous people, those with a social media following,
and a small number of girls who work with agencies and produce content with a team. Management takes a huge cut.

I’m top 3%
I make around $4000 a month from onlyfans. I produce content with clients, I find it hot to film and don’t fuss over it too much. It’s time consuming but not awful.

However my budget for advertising is between $600-2000 a month. I benefit from this…if I wasnt advertising my OF would not be worth the time it takes.

My escort income is considerably more $ and considerably more FUN lol

During the worst of Covid when I wasn't seeing clients in person, I dedicated all of my energy into my Onlyfans and advertising it. Due to restrictions, it was solo content or content with my one girlfriend.
Even though I briefly made it to the top 5% with a few hundred subscribers, my income was nowhere near that of my in person SP income and the amount of time and work that went into filming was much more than I had thought it would be.
Filming and editing a video that resulted in a 5 minute finished product took hours.

When restrictions lifted I took a much needed break from posting new content and advertising my OF.

I have only recently in May started regular posting on my OF again and it is mostly content filmed with clients (with permission).
I find that the natural flow of a real SP/client or SP duo/client session while filmed is much easier to do and more popular.
I just go about the session as I normally would and worry about the minor editing once I receive the footage from the client.

I am now in the top %16 and barely even advertise my OF.
The top %16 sounds like a pretty big deal to those not using OF although it really isn't. I have an average of 35 to 45 subscribers at a time.
I make just enough that it is worth it to post new content fairly regularly and because I'm now putting much less time into it, I'm happy with the little bit of extra income it provides.

Interesting and you've kind of confirmed what I've always suspected. OF was a useful way to make income at the height of the pandemic when there wasn't much in-person stuff going on, but it's a lot of work and for some maybe more work than it's really worth.

OF doesn't really interest me. I'm more of a tactile type, more into sensuality. Videos don't interest me a great deal and I've never and likely will never subscribe to anyone's OF account. But I have always wondered just what it meant when a girl advertises her OF as "Top 7.2%" or something like that. You've helped me understand the platform much better.

Things were also much easier prior to the fall out from Pornhub being called out for allowing unverified porn on their site. After PH culled content in Dec. 2020 pretty much every other major porn site (Onlyfans too) followed suit and put in place procedure for requiring talent verification and model release forms. Quite a few pornstars that did some variation of the "fuck a fan thing" had content from their Onlyfans purged when they couldn't produce MRF's for their scenes. Brandy Talore is one example of that: she probably had 200 plus videos removed with zero recourse.

I bet touring. SPs are illegal in the states except Vegas. If caught, charged and convicted, usually a $1000 fine and 10 days in jail. My friend's been caught once and he did 4 days in jail, they let him out early for good behaviour and agreeging to do 100 hours of community service. Record stays on file for life so employment background checks suck. Luckily only a misdemeanour.

She has close to 20 milion followers on instantcrap. At $25 a pop it only takes converting a fraction of those followers to make that 50 mil

SPs are ILLEGAL in Vegas. They're legal only in certain counties of Nevada (not Clark County, where Vegas is located, because Clark County has a population of over 2 million and only counties under 700000 can make prostitution legal. It's also illegal in Carson City and Reno. In places where it is legal it's only allowed in licensed brothels. So be aware - if you try to hire a "working girl" in Vegas or anywhere that hasn't opted in to make it legal or outside a licensed brothel even where it is legal you're looking for trouble.
