So, there have been a rash of bad poll numbers for W, no spinning that, it is what it is. What is also interesting is that the USA Today / Gallup published a poll today in the USA Today that shows the following:

Bush
Approve 43%
Disapprove 55%

Democrates in Congress
Approve 41%
Disapprove 53%

Republicans in Congress
Approve 38%
Disapprove 58%

Looks like the people think they're all full of it, perhaps the people know best after all......

Dismal present State of the USA

Those poll numbers look about right as the people awaken.
People can't be fooled all the time.
They are in line with what I've been saying for quite some time namely:

Dubya, is one of the most inept, incompetent, puppet POTUS ever!
Face it Dicky Cheney is really running this administration.

Democrats, are morally bankrupt as they go about trying to mimic the GOP, instead of lead and be the peoples snarling watchdog against the Enrons and Kenny Lays.....who BTW is still scampering about free instead of serving at least a life sentence in prison.....UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!

Republicans, are what they have always been, a party of whores who will do anything for a buck.

We need a new party that puts the people first instead of the corporations.
After all this is what the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution had intended all along so many years ago.
Lately both govenment and corporate interests have more rights than the people they were meant to serve as the USA continues to slowly drift into that fascist secret state Benito Mussolini envisioned and championed a few years back during WWII.

The people elected the current administration, senate and congress which flies in the face of your statement. I guess what is true of Canada is now true of the U.S.

You get the government you deserve.

Actually this poll reflects the feeling that the extreme sides of both Parties have taken over government and unless oil prices come down by summer 2006 it will mean a rotten November 2006 for all incumbents.

Instead of "Contract for America" that worked so well for the movement conservatives perhaps the moderates should come up with their own slogan, something like THROW THE BUMS OUT

the liberal party of canada has opened a branch party in the US - they are preparing for the next US election.

They are preparing a list of dream candidates:

1. Ronald Reagan - look alike
2. Brian Mulroney
3. Pamela Anderson

Sen. Ted Stevens (R.Alaska) threatened to resign if his fellow senators failed to back him on his $223 million "bridge to nowhere", a bridge from Ketchikan (population 8,900) and an island 7 minutes by ferry away that has ~60 residents. The island, in fairness, also is the site of Ketchikan's intnernational airport that proudly boasts of 10 commercial flights a day. Sen. Stevens also is sponsoring a $250 million downpayment upon a billion dollar bridge that will span an inlet just outside Anchorage to a nearly deserted port. The Senate's response to his threat? They voted 82-15 to fund his bridges. A great example of THROW THE BUM OUT. They had the opportunity, but not integrity.

In a companion poll the same people favored their incumbents by 60%, sorry.

Pork is the one taste all politicians share - oh I wish we had the line item veto back.
