One day of Rest.

Is it reasonable...To ask for ONE DAY A WEEK where I can sleep in, read the paper, play with the kids, have a nap...entertain Grand-parents..and go to sleep early? Without useless noise?

Why, oh why, do people fire up their damn lawn-mowers, leaf-blowers, weed-whackers and power washers ALL SUNDAY LONG?(7am til 8 pm)?

Do people HAVE no respect for their neighbours?
I know, I know...Why Sunday and Not Sat?
Well, Canada, has for many years, been a Sunday as Sabbath, country, and its, I guess traditional.
But I want one day!
Yes...Yes..Yes..We all have to work shits/overtime/weekends....
BUT when I have to I say screw the damn grass, I'll wait till next week.
Why do people want to be so Damn rude?

Manners stink...in Toronto

Maybe everyone doesn't have the same days off as you?

Call your MPP and ask the clock to be turned back to suit your schedule. Maybe we can revert back to the days of No Sunday shopping.

Nice Group. I'd love to crank up Kim Mitchell's' Patio Lanterns' all Sunday.
Start about 7am, play it over and over again.
But I won't, because unlike you, I have respect for my neighbours.

Part of living in a city, is accepting noise...another part is being respectfull to those around you.
Don't you agree?

Years ago I told my neighbour it was inconsiderate of her to invite her female friends and have topless pool parties on a Sunday morning blaring Donna Summer music.
I am glad I put an end to that quickly before it went too far.

Well actually, there are by-laws that determine how much noise one can produce and when. I don't know what the morning time is but I know 11 pm is the cutoff for the evening.

I'd check with the city and determine if anyone is breaking any by-laws.

Now I realize that city living has it's rewards and problems but there are limits as to what is considered reasonable. For eg: an owner can be charged with breaking the noise ordinances if they let their dog out and it barks continuously and this is applicable even during the day.

BTW: for all those owners of chain saws, gas mowers, leaf blowers etc. Enjoy them while you can because I see a ban coming down the road very soon. Why? Because they produce as much pollution in a day as a car does in a month.

I stand corrected, it is 7 pm to 7 am, here's the link to the city of toronto by-laws:
