Because we don't refine oil into fuel. We don't have tankers.
If we can give billions away, we can rent a boat,

There are ways, I'm sure. I just feel bad for Cuba, I loved the country, people are just people, trying to live. They are such a threat to the usa..a country that threatens the world

Thinking no one wants to risk their boat being seized. And insurance won't cover it.

It's complicated unfortunately, but Canada did send aid.

I'm with you man. Lots of connections to Cuba, and like most places in the world, they're beautiful people who just want to be left alone and live happy lives. It's heart-breaking to watch and feel helpless.

Cuba, cant pay for the oil, they do not have any money
if Cuba wishes to become a Canadian dependant, they will need to change their current form of government.
no Canadian oil company can sell oil / deliver oil to Cuba

the communist experiment has failed and failed badly
They need to make a change in governance

Nobody wants to see the Cuban people suffer.
Canada does provide humanitarian aid to Cuba
AI Overview

Yes, Canada provides both government-level and non-governmental aid to Cuba, including, but not limited to, medical supplies and food
, especially in response to worsening humanitarian crises.

Recent developments in 2026 indicate a significant increase in aid due to severe shortages on the island:
  • Government Aid: As of late February 2026, the Canadian government announced $8 million in funding for Cuba to address urgent needs, including food, nutrition, and medical supplies. This aid is aimed at supporting vulnerable populations and is delivered through trusted partners like the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the World Food Programme, rather than directly through the Cuban government.
  • Previous Aid: In 2025, Canada provided over $3 million in humanitarian assistance following Hurricane Melissa. For the 2024-2025 fiscal year, $8.3 million was provided for development assistance focused on food security and other needs.
  • NGO and Private Efforts: Independent Canadian organizations, such as the Canadian Network on Cuba, regularly send shipping containers filled with medical supplies,, generators, and non-perishable food. Other groups, such as "Not Just Tourists," facilitate the transport of medical supplies via volunteers

BLAH BLAH FUCKING BLAH!

Once again people in this cesspool of a section called "politics" turn human compassion into political partisan bullshit to try and sound smart or make themselves feel superior by "pwn"ing someone .

Every topic in this entire section can be summed up this way: "rich, powerful men playing games with other people's lives"

I've stayed out of everything in this section because of the above, until today, where I shared a modicum of compassion for normal people suffering, and I will now never post here again.

i laid out the facts of the matter
plain and simple
not having a logical counter argument you have defaulted to hissy fit mode, with a side order of virtue signalling

what part of
Nobody wants to see the Cuban people suffer.
Canada does provide humanitarian aid to Cuba
did you not understand ???

do not think for a second you are more virtuous than the next guy because you threw a hissy fit

sadly there are costs / consequences associated with every decision in life
the decision to adopt communism has a very hefty price tag for the people of Cuba
and I will now never post here again.
i really do not care if you post here or not.
its not like i would be deprived of any value or logical insight should you choose not to.

Do you apply the same rules to all countries? Pay for yourself, or change your experimental form of government?

what an odd question

when the experiment fails all the time ? yes
if they want become a Canadian dependant? yes

As of early 2026, Cuba requires approximately 90,000 to 110,000 barrels of oil per day to maintain essential services,
$70 / per barrel

who is going to pay ?
the Canadian taxpayer or their kids?

and there is no way to deliver oil to Cuba
its an island , under embargo and oil tankers are not very stealthy
