Looks like they got the cap on, now the true test comes over the next day or so with some testing.

They're hoping this will capture "most" of the escaping oil. This isn't a permanent fix. That won't happen until the relief well connects to the drill pipe and plugs the damn thing.

They did. Several times. They didn't have these caps as stock items they could simply pull from the shelf. They had to make it up as they went along because they had no plan in place to respond to this kind of accident.

Let's just hope to fuck this does it along with the relief well, it's sickening to hear about it and we're not even hearing the entire truth, let alone seeing the real devastation.

I have no confidence in any of these solutions that they are trying anymore. There seems to be only one real solution and that is the relief well. It seems that all these interim solutions are just designed to deflect from the fact that it is still leaking for so long.
