Only an idiot takes a side with no evidence. That said, I predict many have lept to a side.

I can say that the looting is wrong regardless of the evidence - again, only an idiot wouldn't come to that conclusion. As above, many won't come to that conclusion.

I'm not really on anybody's "side" but it sure as fuck sounds like the kid was shot while not posing much of a threat.. 3 eye witnesses... Autopsy revealing the fatal shot was through the TOP of his head (indicating the kid was bent over or already falling when it was fired).. Autopsy also saying no apparent sign of "struggle".. So far it seems pretty clear cut to me, but I'm willing to suspend judgement until ALL the facts are in..

All I know is that finding an untainted jury will be next to impossible.

Lets see, the side that regularly shows how wrongly we train police officers and who shot an unarmed teenager, then tried to justify it by showing a video of petty thievery as if saying "look, this kid didn't deserve to live"? Or the side that's shouting RACIAL PROFILING at the top of their lungs and who used the released video footage to exact revenge on the poor owners/employees of a random convenience store and countless other businesses?

I choose neither. Both "sides" have acted abhorrently.

One big question I have in all if not most police shootings is why they have to unload there guns with 5,6,7 or 10 shots. Shoot the guy once or twice should be enough I would think.

I would have participated if there was a selection labeled 'Undecided'. I would rather review the facts after the emotions have calmed down.

some are shots to the arms and legs to stop the attacker before the fatal ones if the attacker doesnt stop.

I think brown acted something along the likes of this crazy guy. The cops shot didnt stop him.

a) most police are not Annie Oakley do we really want them spending thousands indeed hundreds of thousands of hours at the shooting range to attempt to develop the skills to shoot the wings off a gnat rather than learning how to deal with and properly investigate incidents of domestic violence, homicide investigation, traffic crash reconstruction etc. . . . particularly when most U.S. Police let alone Canadian police never discharge a weapon "on the job" in the course of their career.

b) when someone is charging towards you you keep firing until they aren't charging towards you any more.

I agree with Serpent's post #11.

This video in #13 doesn't show much.

I can't vote yet but I'm inclined to say that the police abused their power or used excessive force, although if the kid ran towards the cop without stopping, the cop would have the right to shoot him I guess. (Did they stop him as a that store robbery suspect?)

The Canadian side.......as in, I'm so totally done with crossing the border with my tourist dollars and my time.. The entire country is rapidly devolving into a massive sewage sinkhole of corruption, urban disintegration, redneck gun laws, and messed up political ethics and values both within and abroad. I'm really starting to develop a profound dislike for the entire country

Lots of unexplored nooks and crannies to zoom around on my Harley, right here at home in canada. Don't want to go stateside, nor am I any longer interested in what goes on there cuz it's becoming more revolting every newsday

I'm on the side that wants to calmly have an investigation of the incident, and draw my conclusions rationally based on the results of that investigation (radical idea, isn't it?).
If Brown assaulted the officer and tried to evade arrest, the shooting may be justified under police use of force policies.
If Brown was shot in the head with his hands up - surrendering - then the cop is a murderer.

At this point, we really don't know.

I'm always on the side of the truth. If Brown started the altercation and attacked the cop, he deserved to get shot.
If OTOH that cop used excessive force then he should be charged with murder.

What I find hysterical is nobody really knows what happened. Everybody is jumping to conclusions on both sides
