off to Vegas

I just scored a great deal for the Venetian Jan 2nd, 3 nights (Fri/Sat/Sun) of $99 per night.

After frustrating experiences with Priceline (they apparently don't like Canadian Visa cards) which was running about the same rate, I thought I'd call Casino Marketing. They'd sent me a room offer months ago and I asked them if they had any promotions for early January. She said "sorry no promotions available. The best I can do is $99/night instead of $159". I said OK (duh). I stayed at Harrah's last Feb and played a few hours of .25 Video Poker at the V. I've been told that dealing with Casino Marketing instead of Hotel Reservations makes a difference and now I believe it!

As I've mentioned here before, always get a player's card in any Hotel/Casino you'd like to stay in!

If anybody (Canadian) has any experience with Priceline, I'd appreciate any input.

I was there in October and got all the casino cards. Bally's sent me an email for weeeknights at $45 per night.
The stratosphere sent me a birthday deal at 40 for 2 nights. So, you are right about the deals. I have a buddy who got the venetian free for 3 nights,. He doesn't play much, but won a big jackpot there ($5,000) and they want it back. I know another who went recently and stayed at Paris for $65.

My brother got a free deal to Vegas. Sadly he blew $4000 in 3 days so maybe those vegas folk know what they are doing, lol.

Whatever you do, don't hobby in vegas. Major $$$.

Vegas is not a hobby spot, for sure. If I wanted that kind of action, I'd stay home (or go to Montreal).

I knew a sports bettor once. He bet with a Toronto bookie.

Bet 11 college games one Saturday and lost them all. He then bet all 14 NFL games on Sunday and lost them all.

The bookie, feeling sorry for him, said, maybe you should take a look at the Hockey lines. My friend said: Hockey! WTF do I know about Hockey?
