Of course the Battle of Agincourt ^^^ occured on this date in 1415, however, also the Battle of Balaklava in 1854 during the Crimean War.

View from the South, the Fedioukine hills are on the left on the far side of the valley. At the end of the valley was the main Cossack Battery. On the right Causeway Heights.

The vinyard by the way belongs to the Inkerman Winery.

As I know Seth knows, the commander Lord Raglan and his staff, totally ignored the fact that what made sense to then on the heights above the valley, made no sense at all to the commanders on the valley floor who couldn't see what they could.

I am sure it sounds much better in the original Klingon.

Not to hijack, but the preceding day was TorontoHenge Day, one of the days when the setting and rising sun align with our east west street grid, as Stonehenge aligns on the Solstices.

As you were, carry on.

Thank you, Aardie. I will watch those shows.

The best book on The Charge I have read is by Mark Adkin who has since also written a series of encyclopedic coffee table books on Trafalgar, Waterloo and now Gettysburg, all well worth reading.

By now it is over sixty years old, but Cecil Woodham-Smith's The Reason Why is still an excellent study.
