You can't make this up, after years of opportunist press conferences pleading for tighter controls on guns (including the dreaded gun show loophole), NV passes such a background check requirement. Never losing an opportunity to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, the Obama Justice Department sent NV a letter that they would not support the program.

So Nevada passed a law requiring the FBI to do background checks, and the FBI said, "Sorry, we're the Feds and take our legal authority from laws made by Congress." As Aardy says. a great example of citizen's ineptly making laws their elected pols and professional swivel servants won't. Whether from pusillanimity or living in the pocket of well-funded gun lobbyists no one knows enough to say can say. But not knowing has never stopped anyone from saying Obama's to blame for everything.

Or electing a true master of not knowing anything.

Obama has definitely pushed for this for years. Meanwhile when push comes to shove, the FBI (legitimately), is depending upon technicalities.
