Not sure if anyone remember the old British Airway commercial with lots of people running with coloured sheets covering up an entire mountain top.
Well the famous French couple Christo & Jeanne-Clude whose scheme included covering the Colorado mountain valley, part of the Arkansas river, the hilly terrain in California and acres of pink fabric around 11 Florida's Biscayne Bay islands have another scheme in the works.
They will be covering NYC Central park with 46 miles of luminous fabric that would turn Central park into 1 giant golden river in Feb. Prepare work will be for these 2 months. The material would reflect a different colour depending on the position of the sun. Hm, I have to check out the prep work in my upcoming NYC visit.
What's amazing is the couple does not accept donation. They only work with private sponsors to fund these grant scale projects. Perhaps TTC can use them for thei fund raising.
