So the Liberals have cut $150,000,000 payment to the City of Toronto.

Hard to argue a good move, if your a Conservative, particularly when they have so much work to do to balance the books at the Provincial level. They did it to be "fair to the rest of Ontario". Is it fair? When Toronto realistically handles many of the provinces social issues. We will see.

And from the Liberal point of view, this one is hard to like, because it directly affects the poor and social programs that the city runs, for the benefit of many in THE PROVINCE. So in a way, the Conservatives should like this Liberal move..and the Liberals should hate it. Weird!

And at the Municipal level...Ford now has to find cash to support the programs...which the Liberals will now like. Hard to imagine them liking this move...Ford finding cash....And his cost cutting will take a hit, to the SHAGRIN of the Conservatives.

Not really. Just move forward with the cuts at the municipal level. Sell off the unused and derilect property. Get more property taxes as a result. Reduce the commitment to a more manageable level. No where does it say exactly how much housing we need.

Problem solved.

Actually this is very much like what the LIBS did to Ontario when they were in OTTAWA.

It's certainly what the Conservatives did when they created the MegaCity so they could dump what the province had formerly paid for onto the fourth largest government in the country.

Ford's already raising taxes, and hanging onto taxes he said he'd abolish, and Toronto voters still pay less/dollar of assessment than other places in the GTA. The only money the province has to give him is money they already taxed from us—all over the province 'us'—and that'll only drive up the expensive provincial debt, so Rob can pretend he can deliver on his something for nothing promises. The answer is obvious: TANSTAAFL.

Time we stopped believing in Magic Gravy, put on the big boy pants and paid our way up front.
