Nova Scotia Crisis

The recent storm has left much of Nova Scotia in the same state that Ontario experienced in August. Many citizens are still without power.

More tragic (IMHO) is the recent announcment from the NS Hydro commission which stated that "Full Service will not be available until the weekend".

No Full Service?? Now that's a State of Emergency!!!

If this were Toronto, there would be non-stop coverage on all the news stations. There would be pleas for donations. Mayor Mel would be calling in the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Coast Guard and the Boy Scouts.

Now on the news it's "oh and by the way, there's a hurricane headed for Nova Scotia. Now let's head down to Jimmy McGuinn who's at the local animal shelter with some cute puppies!"

And thankfully its not. If you want prime vacation land at dirt prices, here's your spot. You can get a nice plot of land and build a large house for less than 100k.

For the longest time the maritimes were a difficult place to live, limited jobs etc. Halifax is becoming like a small sillicon valley and more tech jobs are opening in the area, so hopefully the future will be better for my relatives.
