I have no idea why Bloomberg said it was due to Eastern Ontario's power consumption. Eastern Ontario isn't connected to that grid. 
I have no idea why I'd even obsess about it. Seems your Prime Ministers office went for a lightning strike on the Niagra Plant. Bottom line is who cares. Fix it and move on.

Just when was the last time a Yank likes to give the benefit of the doubt to a Canadian Prime Minister from the Liberal Party. I can undersrtand why people south of the border don't want to discuss this now.

Actually kiarra, I stick to my words. The people who will determine the facts are the CHIEF ENGINEERS. Not the politions, the police, fire department, the spectators or even the media.
The fact is peole dont want power plants in their back yard
BUT this demonstrates to need for local power supplies. One might think the Power at the NOAGARA POWER PROJECT supplies power to Buffalo and Niagara Falls. Fact is it goes several hundred miles to Albany and NYC.
The REAL QUESTION is why the nukes went off line?????
What was it that tripped shutdowns at these plants, in bouth the US and Canada????? Not what went down first.

you guys are silly...who cares who started it? as kiarra stated, it is important to know what happened and why, to help prevent it from happening again. That, however, has nothing to do with this stupid fucking argument...quit being children and play nice.

I must admit I got a laugh when I was travelling in the USA, listening to the news on friday... they (the media) were trying hard to pin it on Canada...
they played a clip from an expert saying they did not know where it originated... then the local news people would say it came from Ontario... It was amusing.
Anyway other experts were saying that we can expect this to happen more often, as the demand for electricity rises... the "grid" is antiquated and in need of modernization... they have known about this for more than 20 years, but have done nothing about it because they cannot figure out how to profit by upgrading the transmission system.
They went on to say that the "grid" in the USA is no better than that in a 3rd world country.

Now that this power outage has apparently originated from the US - you seem to have shifted from the "Canada sucks and the US is great" to a more moderate "Who cares where it started, let's just get it done".

Oh wait, our PM said "blah, blah, blah" - therefore, our whole country must be to blame for the outage - give your head a shake.
I also read in an earlier post of yours that you would prefer the company of a Brit over a Canadian, so then can you make us the promise that we will not be seeing your angry, armchair General's ass up here? I mean, there must be some great discounts for flights across the pond for you - be our guest and go fly the friendly skies somewhere else.
