Due to my education, I've done analysis of all kinds of media sources.
News sources that have no corporate or governmental (with no connection to major political parties) funding are proven be the most reliable.

Interesting. What does that leave? Not a challenge, a genuine question.

It doesn’t leave much, especially in Canada. Most of the sources that I described are on fringe websites or relegated to YouTube. But at the same time you have be able to use your discretion. Everyone is guilty of going to a source that gives them what they want to hear.

Examples of very credible outlets online are Democracy Now and The Real News Network, both do real journalism and have a lot of accredited experts as guests. Unfortunately people that do real investigate journalism are few as it's not exactly a booming market.

Names like Jeremy Scahill, Greg Palast, Max Blumenthal, Chris Hedges, Naomi Klein, Glen Greenwald etc are very strong names interms of journalists/political activists.

"Redacted Tonight" is a very good political satire show but people are very quick to point out that it's on RT. Although the host, Lee Camp has long been doing this kind of work before he's got his own show, in the form of a crowd funded show called "Moment of Clarity". The show was the only one of its kind to talk about The TPP.
My point is thatsome biased organizations have their gems, Abby Martin used to be on RT as well.

This thread is just a response to the buzzfeed article (with pictures and video) of the PMO's office being cleared out and paper shredders showing up.

Could be nothing.

Could be prep for the next round of Duffy trials, though these days, how much of any real documents are on paper?
Maybe we'll find out next month.

There's no such thing as journalist/activist. Those are mutually exclusive terms. Most people seem to understand this and such people as Naomi Klein are relegated to the kook' corner.

I actually laughed aloud when he said the name Naomi Klein. Oh she of the recent manifesto that makes your average champagne socialist look reasonable.

Judging from the sources of twizz has been posting that even several staunch haters of The Conservatives have dismissed as garbage I'm not surprised at this opinion.

Activist journalist? They are supposed to be impartial and report the news. Unfortunately that is about 90% gone now in the noise of the internet and advertising dollars.

MSNBC has Rev Al Sharpton as one of it's political commentators. Liberals should be embarrassed that they trust this news source.
Liberals also trust Daily Show and Colbert Report - maybe someone should clue them into the fact that these are satirical shows *smh*
Important to note that only the WSJ got trust factor from all political stripes. That doesn't surprise me.

The people who know nothing about journalism are here spewing nonsense...just like the people know who nothing about science talking about climate change.
Another day on Terb.

Just like all the people who claimed the media were 'maggots' and 'biased' when they found evidence that Rob Ford smoked crack.

How about a survey on the most accurate and unbiased News Outlets? I'm repeating one of the quotes which I agree with.

What the hell are the Daily Show and Colbert Report doing on this list? They are (were) wonderful, intelligent entertainment shows, but as news sources they sit on the same shelf as Saturday Night Live. (Boy, I miss Jon Stewart.)
