that's true, I'ved read news years ago that there was a test conducted that bottled water have more bacteria growth than the tap water. bottled water been in the storage for months or more from shipping especially during hot weather that may cause bacteria growth.
my father always said "bottled water is the biggest scam going"

Tell that to the people of Walkerton. Does anyone recall about six years ago when there was a contaminant advisory on tap water in Toronto? Rather take my chances with plastic than drink Toronto tap water.rubmeister100 said:

We still drink it swim in it shower in it and breath it(air) and we are still alive.
But I do agree the price of bottled water is crazy when you can get it out of your tap and its the same thing if not better.

Another thing to consider about water: it is only as good as the means that it gets into your glass. I remember a story where some guy had a top-end filtration system set up is this big old Victorian home he lived in and it wasn't until years later that he had the water tested and they eventually found that the pipes were leeching all sorts of contaminants into his supposedly clean water. Make sure you retrofit plumbing when you go to filtration.
