i dont get any audio when playing the clips from some sites ( like yourtube.com etc), but i do have audio from others( like movie clips from yahoo etc.)
can someone tell me what's wrong or am i missing something.

There is audio on that rather long clip.
As was stated above you may be missing an audio codec.
You have to keep your players updated.
New updates, versions, formats, codecs, keep coming out all the time.
It can be a pain to do but that's the way it is.
