Toronto is changing the rules on the city's nightlife in a bid to boost business after dark

As a nightcrawler, these are welcomed potential changes.
Very few of my favourite haunts are open latenight anymore, post-pandemic.
I always thought it was because of this that businesses have reduced hours. There are just fewer people out at night.

Condo building left, right and far as the eye can see is a key reason why late night fun and culture is being sucked out of Toronto. Cost of livin & sky high rent in Toronto also changes the demographics of who is in the city as well (e.g. young 20 yr old party goers vs. established professionals with early bed times).

As I just relocated here several years ago, I'm sure there are others who could speak to it far better. That being said, I don't see development slowing down or it getting cheaper any time soon.

It's bad everywhere. I sometimes drive in the middle of the night through southern Ontario. I can't even find a Tim's to piss and grab a coffee in a lot of towns these days!

When I was younger, I would sometime take strippers to after-hours booze cans.

BTW: Not sure if still true to-day, but Montreal bars close at 3AM.

At your age, you should be in bed by 11 PM.
