The Cafe at the Windsor Arms Hotel, South of Bloor on St.Thomas, first street west of Bay. Sassafraz is nice too but overblown.

Three other very nice places:

Park Plaza rooftop bar-resto (Avenue and Bloor)
Four Seasons resto (can't remember the name) (Avenue and Yorkville)
Panorama, at the top of the Manulife Centre (Bay and Bloor), great view, food is 7/10.

Forget all of these places and go to either

(a) Scaramouche (just off Avenue Road a few blocks north of Dupont, south of ST. Clair), it's not far from Yorkville, food and atmosphere is top notch; or
(b) Joso's Avenue Rd. and Davenport, gret food esp if you like seafood and many breast-related items in the decor.

yorkville restaurants

Hey Fuji,
I live in the area so here are the array of fine restaurants.

Four Seasons: Avenue Bar and Truffles
Mortons Steak House
Il Posto as previously posted
Sassafraz
Park Plaza Hotel: Annona and also on the 18th floor a bar with a great view
Prego Della Piazza

These are but a few of the good ones. Hope this helps,

Cheers

have fun - and tell us which restaurant you chose and how the night went with this lady friend of yours!!!!;)
Haha. Well, it's for later this week not tonight, just trying to come up with some good suggestions for when she asks me what we're going to do before we get to the hotel. The hotel is in that area this time... I am not usually around there though so I needed some help.

Il Nonsenso...

A lot of posters from the clueless...for a romantic date, there's one place to go, a nice place to go, not overblown, subtle, stylish, classy, great food, great wine, great service and so many places to sit that are each so different catering to different tastes, my recommendation is Cafe Nervosa.
Sassafraz food is far from great, most places around there just come up short in my opinion. I too live in the area. P.S. Pusateri's is a grocery store...that's no place to take your wife!
Trust me, Cafe Nervosa, it's the place to go for you. You can thank me later. I guarantee it.

Fieramosca on Prince Arthur

I've liked the place since it was aound the corner on Avenue Rd. years back.

Southern Italian, great food and service.
