MLSE cheaps out and hires unproven GM's and rookie head coaches, makes winning tough.
You said it bro, we keep bringing unproven coaches to T.O and within 2 years we let them go and STILL have to pay them for the next few years?
Arnt we still payin the last 2-3 coaches for the Raps?
I dont blame any Markee playa to jet from T.O. We've been "Rebuilding" for the last 6 years and we still can't get into the playoff's....wtf?
A player only has a certain amount of healthy years in him barring injuries/ old age (ball wise). So why waste time playing you’re heart out for a franchise that doesn’t want to spend the necessary money and hire an EXPERIENCED GM and coach?
Like I stated in a previous thread, if Charles Barkley for example hadn’t stayed in Philly for all those years he would of won a ring. He wasted his most healthy years in Philly after Dr J left and Moses Malone all for nothing. He was averaging crazy numbers like 20 rebounds a game WITH 20+ points, that’s nutz. Guys like Dennis Rodman, Jason Williams and Ben Wallace are considered great players because they average 20 rpg without even being asked to score 10pts… This is why I don’t begrudge Carter for jetting and playin for a franchise that actually wants to win. At the rate of injuries in pro sports who knows, next week he could be out for good with a unfortunate injury..
I never thought our problem was Vince, we need quality management/coaches. With better management we stand a better chance to win games, if the players like, believe in and RESPECT the coach they’ll play their heart out for him and slowly get better regardless if they have a “SuperStar” on their team or not. After this happens it will attract quality players on other teams that are looking to leave/get cut to join our team.
Over the years teams have been successful even though they didn’t have superstars like when Doc Rivers was in Orlando and they had a great season. Detroit doesnt have superstars either but love their GM and coach and because of that they want to win and have a ring already. I dont think anyone on Detroit are even in the top 10 contracts in the NBA, they are all jus hardworking guys that play their heart out everynite.
Like any business it all starts with management not V.C…..
