It is the first goal scored in what is eventually a 4-2 Boston win, was kicked in(my opinion) and should not have counted.
Referee even waved it off but it was ruled good by review. If it was disallowed that could that have changed the game.

Judge for yourselves.

Couple this with the Wings 'broken stick' goal from last week and you have to wonder What The Fuck is going on at NHL headquarters ?

"Rule 38 – Video Goal Judge

Video review will be expanded in the following areas:

* Rule 38.4 (viii) has been modified to allow broader discretion to Hockey Operations to assist the referees in determining the legitimacy of all potential goals (e.g., to ensure they are “good hockey goals”).
...
* In reviewing “Kicked in Goals,” Hockey Operations will require more demonstrable video evidence of a “distinct kicking motion” in order to overrule a “goal” call on the ice, or to uphold a “no goal” call on the ice.”
...
One last thing to point out with this rule change is the fact that the NHL is going to be more relaxed with its ‘kicking motion’ ruling. So unless there is full, conclusive evidence that a goal was kicked in, expect it to count.
He directed it in with his skate but there wasn't a kicking motion.
So under the "new" rule, it counts.
However this goal will probably be brought up and the rule will be modified again.

Not ripping you im ripping the rule

Its ok to direct the puck into the net with your skate as long as you dont follow through with a swinging motion, ya that makes sense !!! NOT

Next head butting pucks into the net will be allowed !! lol

In soccer do goals count if you knock the ball into the net with your hand ???

I am well aware that a player may have the puck deflect off his skate into the net. Said player can even reposition his skate if his stick is tied up so long as he does not make a kicking motion as he directs the puck into the net.

I think Lucic does make a kicking motion, slight as it may be, as the puck goes off his skate.

Further, what really bothers me is the replay official saw enough to overturn the referee who originally waved off the goal.
