There was strong rumour that she was pregnant with Dodi Fayed's child.That would drive a few within the monarchy nuts.I'd say there's a small chance she was "sanctioned" to keep that birth from happening.You have to remember....these people think they are chosen by God..not allah...God.

Further, both French and British inquests found that she was not pregnant.
