Depends on your interest. A lot are within walking distance of MTA and of course the thousands Yellow cabs.

Cuban diner/bar just north of Little Italy was lot lot of fun. Crowds are Cuban, Latinos, New Yorkers and few Asians.

There's this little dessert cake place with huge line-up only few tables, packed all the time. Most are the club crowd, late 20's to late 40's. Some with the New York attitude.

There is a fun people watching Japanese buffet in mid-Manhattan for people watching, about 65% Asian and 35% non. Most are in the early 20's to mid 30's dress for clubbing type. Few doors down are two hip Korean cafes with 20's and 30's again asians but girls that know how to draw attention.

Central park on the weekend are parked with crowds.

There is also the Sex museum for educational purpose.

If interest, will post names/info.

Try Avalon, at 47 W 20th St. Dress to impress, or you wont get past the bitchy transvestite bouncer. A good time will be had, saturdays preferred, avoid sundays unless you're gay friendly. Plays mainly deep NYC house, open Thurs - Sun only.

Pick up a copy of the Village Voice at any newstand in Manhattan. It'll cost you a buck or two, and is about 4 times the thickness of the Now. They know their sh**, so go with their recommendations. They are also online.

Village is definitely a great source. Free from boxes outside of tourist areas.

WWE cafe and Hardrock at Time square are fun place to spent a few hours and meet other tourists.

Rockefeller courtyard where the fountain/skating rink in winter is great for people watching. Lots of eye-candy but beware of young College girls with southern Attitude, especially ones wearing Abercombie sweats travelling with parents.

South Street seaport on weekends are pack with good looking women. Free to shop or hang-out. Just outside of 3rd fl foodcourt are benches/lounge chair to take in the sights and East river.

SoHo has lots of cafes to sit and people

My highly recommended is offensive driving within Manhattan and after-hours on the FDR, some lanes are narrow - about as close as I get to driving on a course like Monte Carlo Grand Prix with my big vehicle.

For SC, its hit and miss according to my sources. Some prefer to hit AC - Atlantic City for buffet, gamble, and SC.
