I was in NYC for new years. Whenever I travel I try to check out some peeler joints just to get a peek at some new quiff. I went to 3 strip bars in Manhattan and tried to go to 2 in Newark and I’m not too impressed with any. Here they are in no particular order
Paradise Club, 50 W 33st Manhattan:
Paradise Club is upstairs from a adult movie store. They wanted $8.00 for a cover plus coat check. I peeked around the door. There were only 2 customers and about as many girls. They didn’t look like anything special. I said no thanx, and left.
Private Eyes Sports Cabaret, 320 W 45 St Manhattan:
It was a small place with about 6 girls working there. It’s topless only. $5 cover and $20/song for a topless dance on a couch against the wall. It is out in the open. The girl rubs herself against you and there’s absolutely no touching. The guys have to tip the girls on stage to get them to come to the table after her set. I paid $9.00 for a Corona. Again, the girls were nothing special with the exception of a gorgeous black waitress named Mia. I explained to one of the dancers what goes on in Toronto strip clubs and she was blown away.
Bare Elegance, 216 W 50 St. Manhattan:
Bare Elegance is a gentleman’s club which differs from a strip club. Here you can get some action but it costs major $$$. There were about 5 girls and only 2 customers including me. All the girls were attractive. They come to the table and put the high pressure on to get to into the private booths. The price is $100 for the booth for 20 minutes plus $100 for the girl and she “looks after you.” It’s a little too rich for me so I didn’t feel like taking one for the team. Also, I suspect that once you sink $200 bucks and get in there, there are “extras.” Also, the girls don't dance unless you tip them 1st. $5.00 cover and $8.00 for a drink.
I also was in Newark and made the attempt to go to Alice’s Pioneer and The Paradise club. Both were on Frelinghuysen Ave which is a very industrial, dark and dirty part of town. They were really seedy looking places. I was by myself and I just didn’t have the nerve to go in. I'm sure I missed nothing.
Conclusion: In all my travels to the US so far, I’d say that the strip bars in the US suck compared to what we have here in Toronto. There are so many great places, gorgeous ladies and a availability of mileage at a relative bargain here compared to the US.
