Last time in Cuba I picked up a box of R&J Exhibicion No 4 and a box of Cohiba Siglo III. Decent cigars, need some aging. I have been smoking a lot of very good Nicaraguans and Dominicans. The quality of those has shot way up, whereas the Cubans have declined.

Maybe my resolution should be to return to Cuba and finish sampling the entire Cohiba line ... about a third to go ...

I intend to introduce Submissive Dave to JWM. I also want to buy a new Jersey for YYC.

What brands of 'Nicaraguans and Dominicans' do you like and where do you get them, any places on the net that are reliable/ cost effective?

:)

I found these guys based out Montreal a few weeks ago. I tried the method for non cubans, which involves discrete shipping from Virginia. I ordered the CAO sampler to test the method, it worked so I then ordered the Perdomo sampler, which came in yesterday. Average price per cigar is about 6 US, not bad at all considering that, even if I could find CAO in Montreal, the bigger ones would prolly cost about 30 - 40 CAD each.

Service is reliable - the CAO sampler was supposed to have 2 x CAO Brasilia Pirhana, they only had one so they gave me a more expensive Italia Gondola in its place - a good and really well made and massive torpedo shape.

They have cubans at decent prices but can't ship outside of Quebec in Canada. They have an outlet near the airport, havent been yet but I'll check it out.

If you want to try Nicaraguans, the CAO Brasilia, Extreme and Criollo were excellent: spicy, strong and full bodied, with the "paper lunchbag" taste charecteristic of Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. The Cameroon was a bit milder but very tasty. I'll PM you once I smoke the Perdomo cigars.

Thanks for the advice!
