Hey has anyone been to the new Canadian Tire service centre on the 400. I was there last night for the 1st time about 7:30 and it was almost empty. I've never seen it " the old centre" with so few people in it. I thought I would check it out, although I don't buy CDN Tire gas. There were about 6 or 7 people in the seating area 4 in line at Timmies. I checked out the prices of the new burger place and wow $6.79 for a burger only + taxes. Well Timmies should do good there and I don't know about Starbucks how well they will do.
I was just woundering what other people think of it ????

They have a Starbucks in there too. I hate their coffee. Timmies only for me.

The Starbucks there charges more than your normal store. Prices at all the places in the new service centers seem inflated. That applies to the north and south bound service centers.

Starbucks has always been way to expensive and their coffee isn't that great. I've been in other new service centers on the 401 and the Timmies is the same price as all their locations.

I'm so happy more Starbucks are being built.

It is a bit pricey but its so refreshing to have a different tasting coffee.

I love strong coffee and Timmies coffee is very weak IMO.

Thanks for the info next time I travel that way I will make a pitstop to get my yummy starbucks.:)

This has been the way on all the 400 series highways unfortunately. Really no reason for it except greed of our government.

I like Tims in the morning but often wish something stronger as the day goes on. Never tried Starbucks but will now.

Thanks.

MacDonalds has good coffee too and stronger than Timmies. It's really pretty good.
Agreed, I prefer McD over Timmies these days. I go to Starbucks when I want an espresso based drink. If you are not a strong coffee drinker try Starbuck's Veranda Blonde, it is a mild coffee with exceptional flavour. Tim's espresso out of a Nestle machine flat out sucks, McD is acceptable and cheaper but still not Starbucks.

I had a friend order me an extra bold coffee with a shot of espresso from Starbucks... LOVED it. I'll still go to Tim's out of convenience, but certainly prefer Starbuck's stronger coffee....or Vanilla Latte mmmm

I went to the new centre on the way back from my Hamilton tour. It was empty and Starbucks looked closed, but it was like 4am.

I hope the province is making a good cut. They spend huge sums making controlled access highways and then make exceptions for donut shops.

I popped into that service centre at 11pm last saturday and everything but the tim hortons was closed.. you'd think a service centre on the side of the hwy would be 24hrs...

I had the cheezeburger today (I needed some energy before seeing Sasha) and it was way better than a Wendy's burger!!

It's such a shame they closed the one on the eastbound 401 between Winston Churchill and Mississauga Rd. Was always a convenient place to stop for something quick and to use the facilities before dealing with Toronto traffic.

I see that the new one has finally started on the Northbound side of the 400 at Barrie. Looks like a small version of the one at King Sideroad. Apparently the mix of restaurants will vary from centre to centre, so here's hoping for something decent...

One thing I never understood about those centers is why they don't put them between the two lanes so one center can service traffic going both directions.
Along the eastern 401 they are all to the side.
