i'm still with Forsberg winning, but no one else agrees. i took the most voted for from the old poll and some leaders to come up with the latest top 10 picks.

hopefully now we can get a better voting poll.

I like Forsberg but those Ottawa Senators are putting up so many goals I find it hard that anyone not a Senator will win the scoring race.

yeah, especially when he's now icing more time than he ever averaged in colorado. it seems his injury woes are in his past and he doesn't have to be philly's big hitter as they have many others to do that. he can now focus on setting up probably the leagues top goal scorer in Gagne.

kovalchuk is quickly gaining position... his points per game average is higher than jagr, the now current leader.

something to be said for the AHL...

many forwards that played in the AHL during the lockout really improved their offensive game... especially Spezza, Staal, Kesler, Chris Neil, Chuck Kobasew and a few other forwards.

however, defensemen didn't gain that same degree of improvement from their year in the minors during the lockout. (Jay Bouwmeester among others)

certainly it could'nt be the adjustment to new rules alone that affected the 'D'...

Russian league - Magnitogorsk Metallurg - now I check the stats and he didn't do that great there either (19 points in 40 games, only 2 goals - but in Russia the defencemen tend not to shoot as much, but still only 2 goals)

Thorton caught fire at the right time. 17 points in last 6 games, with 1.5 periods to go in todays game. Now 3 points ahead of Jagr with only one game each remaining.

And Cheechoo just passed Jagr in goals as well...
