They can't be any cheaper than Stavro. If the Leafs can sell out every home game, they should have been able to buy a Stanley cup by now. They could jack up the ticket prices as much as they'd like and still sellout the building. All Stavro's done is jack up the prices, while keeping the budget the same. If Mark Cuban owned this team, the Leafs would be repeat Stanley Cup champions buy now.

I couldn't agree more with Thunder. Get ready for fiscal restraint Leafs fans. The Teacher's Pension Fund is all about returned investments.

Yes, they can be cheaper than Stavro.

Damn!!! I seriously thought Mr Thompson would buy controlling interest. Could you imagine if MLSE had Mr Thompson's $25-billion to draw from?

The Ont. Teacher's Pension Fund does not want to run MLSE and never had any future intention of doing so. After this new deal, they are overweight in their holdings. They will shortly unload some of their holdings.

As for Thomson, his name was intentionally leaked out in order to drive up the price for Stavro.

The Maple Leafs and Raptors will operate business as usual with new Chairman Tanenbaum. Maybe Gainey will become new GM of Maple Leafs next year.
