I was wondering how Tory was to lose yet another election to keep his stellar record intact. To a Ford this time ? C'mon :D

Could be just the one poll, polls are pretty inaccurate these days, and it would be a drastic change from the last few.
Though Tory does have a stellar history of screwing up elections...

Don't think Doug Ford will win.

But even though John Tory isn't going to lose I have to say he does keep his stellar losing record intact.

His campaign platforms and his campaign style is so bad a very large percentage of Toronto citizens don't have confident he will be able to deliver his campaign promises or he will be a decent mayor.

He will win because his opponents are so weak I can honestly say anyone including Karen Stintz could have won too.

Someone has to be mayor after the election, right?

Better a Ford than a Tory.

With a Ford we can pretty well guarantee that council will work around the circus atmosphere of a Ford mayoralty to get things done such as the nailing the coffin shut on Robert De Luce's island airport expansion, the TTC service improvements and expansion plans, the construction of the Finch and Sheppard LRTs whilst not wasting and squandering precious resources and time on political agendas that are wholly unachievable such as 'subways, subways, subways' and/or +$5billion worth of choo-choo trains for free.

And who knows, with such an ineffectual mayor as a Doug and such a Fairytale weaver as Tory on the sidelines, council may actually have the guts to finally address what needs to be addressed and that is that increased taxes and new revenue tools are needed to achieve real tangible results regarding mass transit expansion and service improvements to keep pace with the ever increasing needs of a growing city.

Thank you for admitting you fear Tory will be able to work with council and be effective. Finally you admit your agenda.

No fear here.

Eventual outcome of a Tory mayoralty is another 4 wasted and squandered years on the mass transit expansion and transit service improvement files.

It is inevitable given the lack of honesty, credibility and integrity displayed by Tory.

Won't play well on council floor nor in the living rooms of Torontonians when Tory is laid bare and splayed out for all to see.

Tory does not have 'the balls' to come clean.

My gut feeling, even if he doesn't get re-elected in 2018, it will take Toronto four more years after 2018 to recover enough financially from the failed Smart Track file to move forward on the "real" Downtown Relief Line.
