Blackened as in heavily seasoned with primarily black pepper.

Had it at a Twin Peaks breastaurant in Florida. It was a chicken quesadilla. I told my buddy that it was the best quesadilla I'd ever had. Not exactly high cuisine but I'm not snobby

Here's a summary of what blackened means

"Blackened Chicken is a hearty, protein-rich dish made with skinless chicken breasts, dried herbs, onion powder, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. A quick and easy dish that is ready in 20 minutes"

It wasn't spicy at all. It was a cooked in a way that it had a similar texture to pulled pork. The views I had of the Twin Peaks staff I'm sure aided in the enjoyment of the dish.
