The one thing Harper said that I would agree with is that these developments really do present Canadians with a clear choice between two dramatically different visions of the future. It is not a choice between what Layton had previously called "the same" and "more of the same".
The Liberals and the Conservatives were really never very different on economic questions, and since the Conservatives had steered clear of the social agenda that was a differentiator, in practice the difference between voting Conservative and Liberal was insignificant, at least in minority government scenarios.
Now this election... this is a real choice.
