I honestly wouldn't care if they did. But the shortcuts they pull, cutting me off with no warning, and so on, hell no.
As usual all it takes is a few assholes to ruin it for everybody. Up until now Ebikes have been economical and essentially regulation free. Now there will be licencing, taxes(just what we need) and law enforcement intervention. Just more BS for something that could have been, and was, nice and simple.

I think the difference in this is, we don't put complete strangers at risk in doing so.
If you drive in the city you can relate to this stuff, it's the Wild East out there. These guys do anything stupid and a car is involved, the driver of the car is screwed because that person was reckless.
They need to be licensed and insured, it's only right, "part of the risk, part of the solution".
I am saying this as a driver in the city. The delivery riders that treat the roads like back home should be addressed but sweeping rules just everyone. I know many people like the elder dude that got some form of independence by getting a slow speed scooter to run errands. I’m all for that type of use because he is essentially not hurting anyone (like this hobby) and in kinda of a way it makes our society better.

Making all of these people, including the slow speed scooter users get an M class license will just congest our roadways even more for drivers and harm the folks like the old dude that just wants to get around.

No Bigpun, that's not right. If Queen's Park changes the rules, Toronto will have to comply. The highway and traffic act is provincial legislation.
Interesting. I didn't realize that. I was listening to the radio and they implied the rules in Toronto proper wouldn't be changing based on the vote. Wouldn't be the first time the news got it wrong. :ROFLMAO:

Also wouldn't be the first time Ford overruled city hall. He's still pissed about getting trounced in his mayoral bid.

Just to make my own point of view clear, I don't agree with the province overruling local governments (As someone who lives in a rural area but who keeps an apartment in Toronto, I think I can see both sides). But they do have the authority to do so, I'm afraid. Toronto and rural Ontario are worlds apart on many, perhaps most, issues.
