New Comedy Film about the Escort & Driver Biz ?

Greetings TERBies (is that the right term?) I am new here.
I have come here with a mission that I would like some input on.

I have been thinking about this for a couple of years now and have decided that now is the time.
I am producing a film about the escort industry, now beore anyone runs away screaming, " NO Not A Movie About Our Lives," I can asure you it will be a positive and fictional one. Please give me a few minutes.

I will make a movie about the escort business from the Escort Driver's point of view. This is not a documentary
or a serious drama, rather a comedy drama focusing on the lives of the people who make the industry tick.
This is not about what goes on in the calls, but about the lives of everyday people , escorts, drivers, clients, involved in this totally misunderstood world.
This movie shows these people as humans making a living and what they do to break the boredom of the same old grind night after night. These are human beings.
I should be clear, there is " no sex" at all in this comedy.

Do I know anything about the business?? Well, I spent the last 2 years talking to a few escorts and drivers and spent quite a few nights beng a driver myself to get a real point of view. I have accumulated a few great stories of actual funny things that happend.

I found that there are many creative people in the business that know how to spice up their environment and keep things freash and alive and with some laughter.

So why am I doing this, Well I want to show that the people in the biz are mostly
regular people with real lives and real problems and can find real humour in this biusiness. Also it's a subject that has very little filmed about, and I am not talking
about the film "Pretty Women". No one has made a film about the cars racing to the calls, the pranks the drivers and escorts pull on each other, the stunts they pull on weird clients etc..

What do I hope to accomplish with this film?? First a short 15 minute comedy drama. film and pilot ( to be submitted to 3 film Toronto festivals next year)
With that made I can pitch it to distributors to finance full length feature, as well make a proposal for a 30 minute offbeat TV show about the nightly lives of these people.
If you watch TV hese days you will see some very unique type of shows. Have you seen "trailer park boys" on Showcase? pretty bizzare and low budget. And after doing research I have found that Tv stations are scrambling to find low budget programs that are so different from the norm. There is also an international market for this escort comedy drama.

Anyway I can go on for hours but here is the proposal.

I want to produce this film and possible TV show with people who are in the industry. This in itself would be something to talk about. A real comedy about the escort business produced by people in the business. I dont mean all the escorts will be played by real escorts. I would like to find
Escorts with funny stories on the job to collaborate with.
Drivers who have some great tales to tell.
Clients to also share their comical experiences. and anyone else connected with the business.
Locations to film in, perhaps some nice appartments to film in. People to help out on the crew.
Dont worry if you have very little experience. I see many independent films being made every day by people with very little expereince. As long as you have a couple of expereinced crew members. It will be a great learning experience for many of you. Some may want a change of career. It is a very exciting business.
And yes I am looking for a few partners to make this thing happen. Silent partners are given Total privacy and anonymity.
The possiblities?
A feature film and maybe a regular weekly TV comedy. (see trailer park boys on Sunday evenings on Showcase) real low budget realaistic type show being sold everywhere.
I already have one of the new digital satelite channels who said they would buy broadcasting rights for it when it is made from the synopsis I pitched to them.. Not for very much money , they are still very new but it would be alot of exposure on the airwaves. And there is a huge cable market in the states looking for original
new content.

I would like to hear some thoughts. Am I barking up the wrong tree on this board, should I just go ahead shut up and work on this project elsewhere??

thank you for that chuckle , but this is not a whim, this movie is actually happening. We will start in pre porduction in a couple of weeks. I hope you are laughing at the possible comedy that we can create in this movie, Myself we have played alot of pranks on
other escorts and drivers. For example, when we spotted a rival
car with some escorts who spoke to us in not so nice a tone,
we snuck up and put a sign on the back of their car that read
"Escorts In A Flash" You cum in 30 minutes or its free ..and put their cellphone number on the sign. and they drove around all night with this sign on the back of the car.

we did alot of funny things to break the boredom, if you have anything you want to add please do so, you can do it anonymously , just post the funny story with no names.

we will have a screening for everyone who wants to see it when its done at a theatre. with a big party afterwards. And maybe you will see this as a regualr weekly show on late night TV.

Did you think that maybe this could be an opportunity to protray these people as real human beings and then show the world that this could be even thought of as comical.

I have had quite a few positive remarks from some SP`s and others in the bus.
I guess you would rather judge quickly before you even read the script. Or see the film.
anyway that is your perogitive and I did ask for input and I thank you for yours.
Hope you might change your mind when you see this comedy.
Can you give us a reason why this is a NO GOOD idea?? can you elaborate with details as to how you feel?

It means I've been down that road, wrote about it, then sold the rights to a major indie film company. That's what an option is. Capiche? A word of advice from someone who's already there: Learn the terminology before you get involved in the biz. Details... details...

On what authority do I speak? I've got feature film credits as a "paid" writer. Stick that in your pipe...

People are people...

While I can say my experience as a driver for 2.5 yrs... proved to me something I already knew... people are people, no matter what their field of employment I also learned that something else is true. At least in Ottawa where I was driving mosly dancers (80%dancers - / - 20%SPs, MPAs and others)... I know some will not like to hear this and may even choose to flame. At least in the group of people I was driving... a lot if not most of these girls seem to have a lot of problems. Be it relationships, family, friends, drugs, sex, gambling, the list goes on. I was lots of times more of a ear to bend or a shoulder to cry on then a driver. Mind you I am not complaining, putting down, or judging anybody. I did enjoy my job and there were lots of fun times. I also made some very good friends. I met girls families, kids, parents, even grandparents (something I never expected when I ventured out to get this job) and yes like I keep saying people are people, yet it there seems to be an atmosphere of trouble in these people`s lifes. More so I would say then the average white picket fence next door. So while I do have a few fun adventues to share... some are in thread listed below... to tell the truth most times I think about those days, I think about some of the challenges these people had to overcome and wonder where and how they are doing now.

if you are going to rave about your movie that you were "paid" as a writer for,
wouldnt it have more wieght if you told us about the movie,
llike when it was made, where it is available , you know details that might get some of us to actually believe you,
the fact that you are even talking about seems to me, that you are very proud to boast about it, so how come you dont have any deatails ????... No one here has heard of it, so why do you wait for someone else to start a movie before you brag about your movie....

Like I said , in this business, talk is cheap and everyone and their pet hamster sold the rights to something or made a movie with cant provide any details,

so once again I ask you to clarify yourself, details, I did't ask what an option was, I asked what were you talking about, which movie,
please do share, I bet many of us are dying to hear the details.....
so .... either tells us , about it, or move on.

..... another one trying to put down someone who is trying to make something positive, you could have sent congrats for what we are doing, instead of , been there done that..
I am sure anyone can say that, and after you been there and done that, what next... what are you working on now.... being one up an anyone who wants to do a movie. you dont have a patent on this movie.

no daty no missing post, thats what- MR. Writer here who has an option with a major inde film companu that he can't name- wrote in repsonse, nothing more, no details, he tells me to learn the lingo, well option doesnt mean you have sold it,

so MR. been there done that, you should learn the lingo before to try to snow us with your "options",
