Eddie Izzard calls out Tom Hardy. He nominates Channing Tatum and Boris Johnson.

...must be making a disco movie?

The amount of veterans committing suicides complared to the deaths in battle is staggering. 22 veteran suicides a day? PTSD is a very serious problem, leaving veterans without the help they need to recover is wrong.

Agreed.

We love soldiers when they are at the battlefield, but we'd rather not see them when they come home. This is why I find all these rally calls for soldiers so nauseating. Western governments have done a piss poor job of looking after veterans when they return to civilian life.

The Rock's pushups are bullshit half-pushups - he isn't going back to straight arms. And he could stand to go a bit lower.

Why quibble?

Maybe The Rock's body building routine doesn't give him full arm extension. Tom Hardy was trained by fitness coach Patrick Munroe (who has also trained Benedict Cumberbatch and Colin Firth among others) to build strength through calisthenics.

Reminds when I saw this SP many years ago, during a break in the action through chit chat, we talked about martial arts, she was a tae kwan do practitioner and proud of her fitness level. She challenged me to a push up contest. We did the full pushups, not the half ass ones. I don't know how true this is but, she said that a woman can do more pushups than a man due to anatomy differences. I forgot how many we did , but she beat me, lol!

She must have had small breasts, otherwise she would have eventually hurt herself.

Good for her fitness level but I'm no sure about the tae kwan do. Even with my limited training in Judo, she would have tapped out. All fair if the genders are equal.

Tae Kwan Do is good for fitness but to become a true martial arts expert you have to learn the unglamorous "ground and pound" disciplines like Judo and Jujitsu.

I have taken ITF taekwando in 4 different clubs, all 4 of them involved "grappling" days were judo and jujitsu was the primary focus. There was even throws and subbmission holds such as arm bars and chokes required in the belt tests. I don't think it is part of the
martial arts traditional style of training but all the instructors have included ground work.
After all what good is a martial artist that can't even do a throw or submission hold. Im not speaking for WTF Olympic style taekwando, they may be more traditional.

When I was training in Judo, the master was a stickler for cardio-vascular fitness, he would make us run through the neighbourhood in our judogi before he taught a class.

I was stocked when Fabio Basille won the gold medal in the light middleweight class.
