So the sun produces a lot of these neutrino atoms, and they are passing though the earth all the time.

There are millions of them passing though all of us in every second! They are so inert that they do absolutely nothing. We just hear about them.

Three decades ago a physics research group in Canada made an attempt
to measure the mass of neutrino. Their work was later duplicated by various
researchers from various international schools. The works of the Canadian
research group was even highlighted in Maclean's. As it turns out what had
been thought to be the first successful determination of the elusive mass of
the universe's most abundant particle was later found to be flawed
by a laboratory in the U.S. To this day physicists still don't know what the
mass of neutrino is.
