Consumer Reports: The magnets, which are made of the rare-earth mineral neodymium, stick together with such force that if they’re ingested, they can bore holes in the stomach or intestines, sometimes causing blood poisoning and requiring emergency surgery. After swallowing eight magnets in April, 22-month-old Braylon Jordan of Kiln, Miss., needed to have almost all of his small intestine removed, leaving him dependent on intravenous nutrition.

The marketplace for such magnetic toys has flourished. It includes brands such as Buckyballs, Magnet Balls, Zen Magnets, and NeoCube, the first to hit the market in 2008. The magnets have been marketed as adult desk toys; their labels state they’re intended only for grown-ups or age 14 and older

I always hear about these things too late but I think the novelty would wear after 20 minutes or so.

I get around.
"Don't eat magnets" is a reason to recall and stop their sale? Should we just encase everyone in bubble wrap to keep us all safe.

Anyway if these little things are no longer available give this overpriced gizmo a try:

I just don't get it. Need to figure out a way to monetize something from my younger days. Maybe $10 each for glass marbles. Or $25 for a pre-folded paper airplane. Authentic! Vintage! Relive Your Youth!

Over priced is right. These have been available for years - it's amazing they can generate any revenue from an old toy.

I ordered some of those recalled neosphere magnets online. Let's see if the delivery makes it's way to me or if it will be stopped. No biggie if I lose out on less than $25

I picked the mail today found my neocubes from ebay seller. I guess customs does not care for small package of 216 tiny magnets. I spent the last 40 minutes trying to put together the cube, it looks easier than it is.
