Have they already notified you that you owe the interest? Or are you aware you'll owe it but haven't filed the information yet?
If they aren't yet aware of it, you can submit a "voluntary disclosure" in which case they'll waive the interest. If they've already sent you demands then I think you're screwed, but it's worth a try: Call the case center and beg.

What would CRA deem as reasonable?
yeah- why was that again?Not interest reduction but Brian Mulroney paid taxes on only half of the 225,000 cash he received from Schreiber.
At the time anybody who owed taxes and voluntarily reported it was eligable for that deal you jsut had to ask. The program was cancelled about a year afterr Mulroney's tax team reported.yeah- why was that again?
