Need New "Untouchables"

Watch these videos and see if you don't come to the conclusion that Pietro Poletti should be put in charge of building a group like "The Untouchables" to train street police and detectives and investigators all over Canada. The political appointees now in charge are not getting the job done. Experience counts.

Unfortunately it won't work in Canada. The charter would put an end to it before the first case went to court. Back in the seventies there are a couple of cops we called salt and pepper as I understand it they were given a lot of leeway when it came to cleaning up Young Street and a few other areas there were arrest rates were very high and a lot was accomplished however a lot of people's rights were violated. They were quite famous for their Cherry Beach Express rides. They were disbanded in the late seventies because of so many civilian complaints and civil rights abuses not sure you'll ever see that again.

I am not suggesting anybody stretch any laws or rules or go back to the past. Maybe recognize a problem solver when you see one. Find the right people and have an open mind as to who they might be. There are some thoughtful police, case workers, and judges who could have useful input about bail, sentencing, and mental health. Top down policies seem to be failing.
