Greetings all:

For the past couple of years I have been a happy user of Stealth Surfer www.stealthsurfer.com. SS is a USB stick with a portable version of Foxfire on it that leaves no trace of history or cookies on a computer once removed.

I have had 2 of the devices. I broke the first and recently lost the second one. Both cost about $80 US. Their current models are $200 which is insane.

What devices/services does the group of experts here use to hide their tracks from employers, spouses and nosy people? I am thinking about moving to a Proxy service but have liked the flexibility and easy of the USB device and not particularly looking forward to a monthly recurring fee.

Thanks for the help.

This software sounds really good for at home. Beware though, most companies have boot loaders that initialize web site logging. So while Firefox doesn't keep the history on the computer the logger still does its job sending the tracking back to the servers when shutting down. Even proxy servers don't stop this method of logging. The situation depends on how paranoid the company is.

Linux-USB-Live

There is a Live Linux USB OS, but the MB must boot the USB I think.
Check it out,
Also try Backtrack 2.0 CD btw.
