Need help: Has anyone here used Escrow.com?

Ello mates, I wanted to know when using escrow.com who provides the sellers details like name, address, etc (for the check that they mail seller)?

is the name/address visible to the buyer at ANY time during the entire thing? (even an email from escrow saying dear buyer, john joe has ...)

also is the check or money reversible any way possible? i noticed escrow.com accepts credit card as payment so what if buyer calls credit card company and files charge-back..? (i've been burned like this before)

I have used them before and was very happy with the service. My recollection is that the addresses are visible, but it has been a while. I only used them for tranactions large enough that credit cards were not allowed so I cannot help you there.

Google them. You can get screwed over. Craigslist and ebay warn specifically against using escrow services, and be suspicious about people wanting you to pay for goods that way

I just double checked my facts on that last reply I made, and it seems ebay does support escrow.com. They have some info in their help section under payment options. Google escrow scams,however, and you'll find its a minefield of trouble out there for some other escrow sites.

I'd be leery of any payments involving payment by check, however. I think there was a thread here on Terb on the myriad of ways check payments can be reversed even after the check has been cashed. The guy who cashed the check ends up on the hook.
