My girlfriend, could be my ex soon if I don't fix this problem of mine, wants to know what I do on my computer during the day. I think she suspects I'm surfing adult sites, which is really not unusual, but don't want her to know of this site and other SP board sites. I quickly erased all my history and cookies but I'm not sure if that's sufficient. She once told me she knows about how she can check the computer registry and see what people are up to. So here's my question:
What is this computer registry and is she right? If so, how can I permanently delete the data in the registry so she can't see what I've been up to? If I reloaded my operating software, will that do the trick? I know there are so sharp computer guys on this board and your help would be appreciated.
Also I heard a while ago that all info is stored on the hard drive and can only be erased if it's overwritten, is that true? Also heard you need special software to scan the hard drive to see what's on it, but only authorized groups, like the police, have this special software, true?
