Need Advice - Road Trip along HWY 17

I'm heading on a road trip along highway 17 from TO to the Manitoba boarder later in June and I'm looking for some advice. I've searched through the positngs and it looks like there is action in most large towns, but I'm hoping to get some suggestions from others who either live along the route or have travelled it before.

I'll probably only have enough time to make one or two stops along the way to sample the local delicacies. To help point me in the right direction, two things that I almost need are DFK and MSOG, most everything else is flexible for me.

Hopefully I can get a few suggestions, everyone's opinions and expertise is appreciated.

I know there used to be some agencies, and might still be, in Sault St Marie. I have never used them myself so can't help any more than that. There might also be some in Thunder Bay as well.
