My wife's computer will not boot. I can get into the BIOS and I can get in Win 10's "boot recovery" programs, but nothing seems to work.

So, I'm now willing to take it to an expert.

I live in Toronto.

Can you folks point me towards a really good techie?

Thanks

You could phone the 800 MS Help # and they may be able to help.
Or try Googling that problem to see if there is an easy fix.

Assume this is the PC you just did the 'upgrade' to W10.

This an example of why I always preferred doing a clean install over an upgrade to any new OS.

I also had a choice of doing the upgrade to W10 or downloading W10 to a thumbdrive as a bootable ISO file. This ISO file option lets you do a clean install, which I always preferred, of W10 or any new OS, rather than doing any OS upgrades that may cause conflicts and issues when old corrupted files, etc, are unknowingly carried over to a new OS.
Windows 10 ISO file - Microsoft

Don't you lose all your "stuff" when you do a clean install?
Yes!
Just save the files, stuff you want to an external HDD, other partition, thumb-drive, Cloud, etc, and you will be OK.

Probably a good idea to save your valuable stuff to an external HD anyway.

Question to the OP: Have you tried a systems restore?

Yeah, you need to have a restore point to go back to....

I really don't want to mess with it anymore... I'd rather find a techie guy and leave it in his hands.

This guy was great! His name is Bob and he was meticulous, careful and friendly. All in, he spent about 4 hours, while multi tasking with outher customers, as my machine was updating, and he charged me $60 labour. He cleaned the machine carefully and explained everything.

I will definitely use him again.
