Having spent 10 months in TO, I found this kind of an oddity. For all the TO Terbites, is there that much interest in college ball? Hell, it's even tough to find tourny games at bars when the Leafs are playing. I never felt it and in reality there is no inherent reason for it since there's not really a megapower anywhere near the border. Syracuse is the closest thing and they have had runs here and there but not the consistency to be even closely considered one of the elite programs. Other than alumni, who would go to this more than once???

The other thing that I find really strange about this is it's a bowl for US colleges. Doesn't anybody else find it kind of weird for a game to be held in Canada? Says a lot about the lack of care for Canadian colllegiate sports now doesn't it.

Go Blue!

GTA
would have mild intrest
but i think you would be getting
2nd tier division 1 schools
the big east has lost most of its quality teams
and their conf. winner will go to a bcs bowl
as for the other conf. that is a lower conf.
i think the univ. of buffalo is in that conf.
as a 1 time off event I think it might do ok
but to have a long term future Toronto will need to
see bigger name schools
MINOR LEAGUE WILL NOT SELL IN TORONTO

I heard it will be a MAC conference team involved which means a low end bowl

This idea has been discussed over the last couple of months. One report I saw pegged expected draw to be between 20,000-25,000 fans, about the same for a Vanier Cup in Toronto.

In the last few years the MAC has been able to hold its own against the big boys. If you havent noticed the NFL is loaded with MAC qb's. In fact they had the BSC so nervous the last few years they changed the system. :D

Depends on which teams are invited. I would suggest an early season game, let's call it "The Maple Leaf Bowl". Invite USC, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan, Oklahoma or any other two programs who "travel well" and you'll have a minimum of 50,000 alums and fans visiting your city. Notre Dame is planning neutral site games as we speak. I think Toronto would be a great site for such a game. Just get rid of that stupid 55 yard line. :p
