Time to implement a restitution tax on churches and a federal restitution tax on Canadians. 100% of proceeds to go to Indigenous communities for rebuilding, sociological healing, continuing forensic ground testing and implementing final arrangements of their murdered children.

tax people today for the mistakes that happened when the schools were open. shall we impose reparation for asians who were imprisoned in camps. how about the jews. black people. pretty much anyone who got the shit end of the stick.

its a tragedy but imposing a tax on a country for the crimes of past generations is nothing but a cash grab.

Well you obviously haven't had the shitty end of the stick so yes any that suffered from physical and pyscological abuse deserve to be treated to enjoy whats left of their life. It's interesting when people know they could possibly get dinged a tax how fast they have excuses and how fast they would think twice of harming another if it meant they were money out of pocket.....whats your solution then?

apparently we are very close since you seem to know me and my life experiences so well.

so enjoying their lives means money huh? if money is the measure of happiness then most people have problems.

of course I have an issue with increasing my taxes because they are taking my money for something I did not do. I am responsible for myself and my actions not the actions of others. to shoulder and impose sanctions against myself for something I have no responsibility for is insane.

by all means please feel free to give people your money but as a country they should stop stealing mine, I pay enough for other people already.

You are not understanding what he is saying at all. Hopefully you understand his second post.

I do not want to pay higher taxes for something I didn’t do. And I have native in me. About 1/8 but I know my tribe and reservation. I know part of our history and it is not good. I am sure if I go back far enough and really research, I will find someone in my distant family effected by this. Still doesn’t mean I should pay for something I didn’t do.

I’ll also wait and see what the Catholic Church kicks in. Maybe go after them for part of this. I mean they are not meeting until December???? Really???? The church really cares about what happened don’t they? They put this off for 6 months. 215 kids dead but let’s deal with it in 6 months.

And you want to tax Canadians???? How about you go put your money where your mouth is and start donating to native causes. Then you can feel good about yourself and the rest of us can do what we want.

Be sure to post your donation receipts here so we know you are not just full of hot air, and seemingly only hoping to gain attention and clients from all your new daily postings.

jealously is an emotional disease.get well.
Listen up it's not just 215 children its in the 10s of thousands of children each residential school is now being sought out for unmarked graves.
It's a genocide. You may not care enough for your people but i do the psychological and physical abuses inevitably cause PTSD and other mental illnesses that these poor people have to live with for the rest of their lives all because the Catholic church failed them, the government failed them the RCMP failed them the people of Canada turned a blind eye too. The money would go to treatment for healing so they can make the best of what they have left in their hearts and mind to be able to not channel out to addiction or anger or sadness everyday from the torture they endured. I married a man 1/2 French 1/2 Indigenous and both of my children are a 1/4 indigenous and I just can't swallow and sweep under the rug what your willing to do for these precious lives that got separated from their parents and to soon be abused and killed. I get it I have a big heart and you do not. I give more money to the needy then the rich do and i don't do it looking for anything in return ...my only hope is that it helps those in need.

Oh how you love to twist things. LMAO. You are a joke.

I have a heart. Nothing I said denounces that. I just don’t feel that Canadians that had absolutely nothing to do with this, should pay for it with an extra tax. That doesn’t mean I don’t have a heart. You don’t know the work I do at two different reservations. You don’t know the money I donate, you don’t know anything. You just think you are clever and witty with lame attempts at comebacks in run on sentences but it doesn’t work like that pumpkin.

The more you post, the more I believe you are full of hot air, jumping on bandwagons to make posts to gather attention. I mean go for it, you are an advertiser here so I don’t care personally as long as you pay for fair share, but doesn’t mean I won’t call it out for what it is. In fact, it is pretty sad to use a situation like this to garner attention but whatever. You will get yourself banned AGAIN sooner than later anyways.

its not 10's of thousands of dead provide evidence it is, disease was the cause of death for most with deaths occurring mostly before the 1950's before vaccines and effective treatment for the diseases that were killing all children then

Your logic is a selfish one. I get it you don't have to convince me or others that because you personally didn't cause this. tough shit for them right. i'm glad you weren't my mother.

government said 3200 deaths ive seen as high as 4100 mentioned still not 10k

still no evidence to back up your claim of 10,000's of deaths since the deaths dropped way way off after ww2/1950's (for ALL children) you dont even have that many years to get to a high death count

I’m glad you are not my child. You wouldn’t have turned out the way you have if you were though. My daughter is awesome!

I never said tough shit BTW. Just that in my opinion, the solution is not to tax people that had nothing to do with it. There are other options then just throwing money at the problem. But since that is all you think about , money, money, money - that is the only solution you can come up with.

But again, use your lame attempts of pretend concern to keep trying to gain that attention. How’s it working for you? Getting an new clients?? LMAO

When am I going on ignore BTW? Soon I hope. LOL

The headline should be “Indigenous leaders have a jolly to Rome on the tax payers dime”

Wouldn’t the money be better spent on getting clean running water or clamping down on the systemic abuse indigenous women and girls face in their community.

Let’s ask this?

Just starting with the 215 kids found in the mass grave

1. How many were abuse?
2. How many were murdered?
3. How many died of natural causes?

Where they victimized? 1000%. They were as soon as they were ripped from their mothers arms. But how many were actually murdered? There is a difference there. These could have died by disease at home in reservations just like in the schools. We don’t know. We have to find out and the church are being assholes about the records and doing things like waiting 6 months for talks.

Let also find out just how much money the Canadian government has given Native tribes over the years. And let’s find out where that money went once it got into the hands of the chiefs. That plays a role as well.

And I quote

“"You may have heard stories from 7,000 witnesses in the process that were negative," he adds. "But what you haven't heard are the 7,000 reports that were positive stories. There are many very successful people today that went to those schools and have brilliant careers and are very functional people, very happy people like myself. I have a thriving international career, and it wouldn't have happened without that school.”

I know a few people that went to those schools they got good jobs but their mental health deteriorated and the flash backs of those schools has caused them to go into deep dark depression not able to hold on to the job not able to hold onto their marriage and not able to father their children and they are in therapy as we speak.
