Some people cant grasp the general idea that there is a "no going back" point, it does not mean those events will happen on THAT date. It means after that date, we are highly unlikely to be able to stop the damage. Not sure how that is hard to understand, but alas here we are.

You need to stop using your grandfather as your science source and look at the actual temperatures.
Read what I wrote again, it does not mean "weather" it means AVERAGE weather patterns for a specific region.
