Frog photobombs Nasa launch photo

The amphibian was propelled into the air during the launch of the LADEE spacecraft and managed to get in the way of the camera.

This is a giant leap for frogkind - as an unsuspecting frog manages to photobomb an official Nasa photo.

The amphibian was propelled into the air during the launch of the LADEE spacecraft and managed to get in the way of the camera.

It had been living in a pool at the Wallops/Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport which was providing water to a high pressure sprinkler system to prevent fires.

A NASA spokesperson said: “The photo team confirms the frog is real and was captured in a single frame by one of the remote cameras used to photograph the launch.

"The condition of the frog, however, is uncertain.”

Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that it survived

I hit a frog with a bat once. Instant death. I felt bad about it afterwards, because it was a plastic bat and it was a nice slow swing. And it didn't even go 10 feet.

As kids, we used to go to the pond and hit frogs with bats or sticks all the time. Generally they were launched about 30 - 50 feet.

Looking back it was indeed cruel, but as a kid it was a lot of fun.
